Mai Phuong Nguyen
Nguyen Mai Phuong is an associate scientist at CIFOR-ICRAF with extensive experience in diverse areas such as land use mapping and land suitability analysis, coffee agroforestry systems, agroecological local knowledge, land degradation assessment, gender, and ethnicity in agriculture and project impact evaluation. Phuong holds a Ph.D. degree in Agroforestry from Bangor University in Wales, United Kingdom. Phuong has a passion for enhancing environmental services and improving smallholder farmer livelihoods. Therefore, she finds ICRAF action research approach fits well with her interest in supporting the local vulnerable community as well as growing herself as a senior scientist. She enjoys the working environment at ICRAF which provides her the opportunities to see the impact of her work at local, national, and international levels.
